The 12th Annual Trinity Cathedral Community Day Golf Outing
The 12th Annual Trinity Cathedral Community Day and Golf Outing, held again this year on Columbus Day at Mercer Oaks Golf Course, West, was another huge success. It was a day of fun and fellowship, and very successful from a financial standpoint as well. This year’s event netted over $28,000, bringing the total for the twelve year run to nearly $250,000. The weather man again listened to our prayers and provided yet another great October day. We had approximately 92 golfers from many Diocesan parishes participating again this year, with a team from Saint George’s Church-by-the-River, Rumson, winning the coveted Bishop’s Cup for a record fifth time. Many additional parishioners attended the evening awards dinner and ceremonies, mostly from the Cathedral and Diocesan House.
Special thanks to the numerous advertisers, sponsors and financial supporters of this year’s event, which raised record income for the Cathedral. Special thanks go to 1919 Investment Counsel, lead sponsor of the event for the second year. Much appreciation goes to Ann Notte, Office and Convention Manager of the Diocese of New Jersey, who helped again with the printing of this year’s wonderful program booklet. Thanks also to Bishop Stokes and the hard working Golf Committee, whose efforts over the past year helped make the outing another successful day. Other Cathedral members on the committee were Dean John, Chuck Perfater, Tom Aiken, Bill Harmer, Patrice D’Angelo and Willie Coleman. Special thanks to Patrice D’Angelo, Georgia Koenig and Ginny Harmer for their service the day and evening of the event.
We look forward to next year, and making the 13th Annual Trinity Cathedral Community Day another roaring success!
