The 13th Annual Trinity Community Day Golf Outing:
Very Successful in Spite of a Weather-caused
by Canon Chuck Perfater
This year’s outing was to occur on Columbus Day, Monday, October 9th, but bad weather intervened, and for the very first time in our thirteen years of staging this profitable event, it had to be postponed until a rain date could be arranged and all arrangements could be re-staged. With the gracious assistance of the folks at the Mercer Oaks Golf Course, the committee led by its Chair, Dick Koenig, was able to quite successfully conduct the 13th annual outing on Monday, October 30th. Congratulations to St. Martin’s Church, Bridgewater, who went home with the Bishop’s Cup!
Due to re-scheduling, we did lose a few golfers, but gained others who had been unavailable for the earlier date. With the tremendous financial assistance of 1919 Investment Counsel, our title sponsor, and the hard work of committee members the event was a grand success. Over $28,000 will be netted to assist with Cathedral mission support. This brings the total net proceeds for our thirteen year existence to over $300,000.
The committee wishes to thank all of our Cathedral parishioners and Golf Committee members who had a hand in this effort…golfers, workers, dinner attendees and contributors. We will soon be planning our 14th Annual, which will be held on Columbus Day, Monday, October 8, 2018…so mark your calendars!
